Kona, Hawaii…. it is 3 AM here on the island, as I sit in a lawnchair on the beach and think of how blessed we are. It is so easy to forget what God has created. I look out over the ocean, I give thanks for the life experiences that we have.I come to Hawaii with family and friends to compete in a 200 mile relay race called Ragnar Hawaii 2016. We leave at 10:30 AM with two vans and a 11 man team. I am assigned to run the second leg of 3 legs, which is 9 miles with good elevation. I have trained for this relay race after coming off a 26.2 mile marathon qualifying for Boston, (10 days ago) my first time in 20 years. The only concern I bring with me to this race today is I have a cold and cough. My clients know how much I preach rest and you will recover. Having a good team of family and friends, allows one to back down on mileage if needed. You have to know when to say no, which takes training through experience. Many times in life, we don’t know when to say no. We often put others first before ourselves causing stress, weight gain and obstacles in life. If you get anything out of this message, take time for you. We have been giving this opportunity to live here on this earth and take care of what we have been given.
